Welcome to the online home of College Square Elementary, a dynamic learning community.  Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the academic, emotional and social growth of our children.  We believe that interpersonal relationships are essential for growth.  We strive to know our students and their individual strengths, challenges and interests, ensuring each child’s positive school experience and love of learning.

We believe that learning is a lifelong process.  Our highly qualified teachers use student assessment data and curriculum review to develop appropriate instruction, for all of our learners, both in the classroom and during targeted support through our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).   We grow readers through building a solid foundation in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and reading fluency.  We grow mathematicians through exercises in numeracy, problem-solving strategies, reasoning and analysis.  We engage other content areas through inquiry, problem-solving, critical and creative thinking and reflection.  Essential to their development as people, our students explore, practice and create during music, art, technology, library, wellness and physical education instruction.  Modeling lifelong learning, our faculty and staff enhance their practice through reading, professional development, graduate study and reviewing current educational research.
