About Us

Welcome to Beaver Area Middle School, the school building of the Beaver Area School District that proudly serves students in grades seven (7) and eight (8) who hail from the municipalities of Beaver, Vanport, Bridgewater, and Brighton Township.

Similar to the entirety of the Beaver Area School District, Beaver Area Middle School holds firmly to the belief that education involves the development of the whole-child and that children are individual learners who can achieve their greatest potential when given a positive, supportive learning environment.  In holding ourselves to a high academic standard, we understand the importance of a well-developed, standards aligned curriculum that is challenging yet also appropriate to the needs of our students.  At Beaver Area Middle School, in understanding that every student is unique, we strive to work alongside them during their middle level years as they continue to develop academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally through the litany of different learning experiences that we offer.  Coinciding with our academic programming and the high standards that we have set for ourselves and our learners, we at Beaver Area Middle School further show our dedication to our students through the plethora of elective classes and extracurricular clubs, sports, and activities we offer to engage and continually grow our learners.

While cohabitating our secondary campus and sharing some similarities with our high school, the differences of Beaver Area Middle School cannot be understated.  Being the middle level, we strive to smoothly and effectively be the transitional bridge between a students’ elementary and high school learning experiences.  At the present time, Beaver Area Middle School has fourteen (14) homerooms; students are split across three different teams of teachers, each one working collaboratively to support the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of our learners.  Aside from the four (4) core classes in which students partake and the common partial experience in which they engage, students at Beaver Area Middle School also have some choice in their program of study and the elective courses in which they take during the school year.

With us being staunchly entrenched in the digital age, we at Beaver Area Middle School harness technology for the instructional advantage of our students, faculty/staff, and families.  We firmly believe in the integration of technology across the curriculum to enhance the learning experience afforded.  Along with our one-to-one iPad implementation, we also heavily utilize learning tools, including Google applications and Schoology, our online learning platform, to post to a homework calendar, upload materials, such as assignments, quizzes/tests, instructional videos, and engage in discussion boards.

As is the case throughout the Beaver Area School District, we at Beaver Area Middle School believe that constant collaboration amongst and between our students, faculty/staff, families, and community strengthens the experience for all.  The support that we receive from these various parties enables us to support our learners' progress and growth so that they are prepared for life beyond our walls.

We welcome you to our community of learners here at Beaver Area Middle School!
