On Friday, April 13th, 14 students from Beaver’s Special Olympics Swim Team competed in the 2012 Special Olympics Swimming event held at the Beaver Area High School Pool. The day was filled with competition, awards, and excitement. Fifty olympians filed the pool deck. All participants earned medals, with many of them earning several. Families and spectators occupied the stands, offering support and encouragement with their signs and cheering. After the meet, lunch was provided by Pizza Joe’s for all participants and their families. Many Beaver Swim team members volunteered for the event. The event was organized and run by juniors, Abbey Caruso and Danielle Migdal, and this event served as their senior project for the class of 2013. -
