Information for Parents: We invite you to attend our presentations about beginning an instrument on Tuesday, September 10, at 7:00 PM, in the Dutch Ridge cafeteria. We will provide an overview of the orchestra and band programs and will cover information about renting an instrument. Please complete the online form to register for instrumental music lessons by September 13.
What are the benefits of learning an instrument? We are committed to helping your child have an outlet for musical and artistic expression. Playing an instrument can fill a need that is unique and important for your child’s well-being. When we create music, we are expressing ourselves and using our mind in significant ways – developing neural pathways, processing emotions, and creating friendships along the way. We develop teamwork, empathy, and resilience when we learn to play an instrument!
What are the next steps? We will provide complete information about instrument rentals, required materials, and lesson schedules after registration is underway. Instrumental students have a weekly lesson in place of their music special once per week. Lessons are provided free of charge.
Chorus: Fifth and Sixth Grade Students may register for one instrument and chorus if they choose to do so. Please keep this page for your reference and contact us with questions. We look forward to working with your child this year!
