Superintendent's Message on Community Safety Presentation - posted 5/21/18
On April 25, 2018, the Beaver Area administrative team and other key personnel held a school safety presentation for interested community members.  The components of the District’s Comprehensive Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan were shared, as were the key findings of a meta-study jointly conducted by the US Secret Service and the US Department of Education related to instances of school violence.  Next, each building level principal or assistant principal spoke about their school’s safety nets, preparedness, and school security. The final three presenters were the district’s contracted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), the district-wide School Resource Officer (SRO), and the Athletic Director (AD).  Each shared information relevant to their area of expertise.

Attached to this message is a narrated version of the presentation reiterating the most salient points (click here).

Community members who had unanswered questions after the presentation were invited to use an online form to submit their questions.  Those questions are answered in the attached School Safety Question/Answer document (click here). If you have additional questions, you are encouraged to reach out to your building level administrator.

Thank you to those who attended the community safety presentation and to those who submitted questions.  Student safety remains our primary concern.
