Hello, Beaver High School Families,
Spring is just around the corner, and we are going into the home stretch of the school year. We have a few reminders and a few changes coming up that we’d like to pass on to you. We are very excited to have our students back in the building, even though it may not “feel” quite like normal school yet. We are hopefully, like you, that we are closer to getting things back to a more normal feeling.
Upcoming dates
Wednesday, March 10 - Regular asynchronous instruction day (NOT early dismissal)
Wednesday, March 17 - No School
Tuesday, March 30 - End of the 3rd 9-Weeks
March 31-April 5 - No School
April 6-9 - Full in-person instruction all week (since we are off on Monday)
In-Person Expectations
Students who are present in the building are expected to attend all classes. Logging in to a class virtually while in another room will constitute a class cut, as we need all students to be in the classes where they are supposed to be at all times. Being somewhere else becomes a safety concern and makes contact tracing more difficult. As with regular school, students need to be where they are supposed to be and when they are supposed to be there.
Virtual Expectations
While we are being flexible with transition to and from virtual instruction, we are seeing a trend of students just not wanting to come to school that day and then logging in at home. If students use virtual instruction, we assume that the student is sick and symptomatic and have to follow all protocols related to that. Therefore, please adhere to the following guidelines:
If not already full-time virtual, it’s ONLY to be used when students are symptomatic or sick.
Students should be at home, or somewhere that they can still do the work for the classes. Logging in from a phone is not fully participating in class.
If students are in quarantine, they are still expected to log in to their classes and fully participate. If they become sick and cannot do their work, please contact Erin Kilpatrick ([email protected]) in the attendance office to report the absence.
Students are expected to go to all classes online except study halls. If they do not log in, this will count as a class cut and will be referred for disciplinary action.
If you would like to return to in-person instruction from full-time virtual, which you may do at any time, please let your guidance counselor know when you’d like to return.
Graduation
Graduation will be held outside on June 11 at 6:30 PM. Since we will need to be outside for the ceremony, we will also have rain dates and will communicate to families if the date needs to change.

Rain Date 1: June 12 at 6:30 PM, Pat Tarquinio Stadium
Rain Date 2: June 13 at 6:30 PM, Pat Tarquinio Stadium
It is hard to believe that we are thinking about graduation already, but we are very excited to be able to hold our ceremony outside with our full graduating class. Because we do not know yet what the current event limitations will be, we do not know how many tickets each student will receive. We would prefer to wait and see what the state has mandated at that time rather than attempt to predict what our limits will be. Please be patient with us and know that we will communicate this information to seniors and their families as soon as we know.
