In this lesson, we read about how scientists classify the animal kingdom. The animal kingdom is broken into two smaller groups - vertebrates and invertebrates. These two kingdoms are broken down even further. There are 5 groups of vertebrates: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish. We discuss 3 groups of invertebrates: arthropods, mollusks, and worms.
