2022-2023 TESTING UPDATES:


TESTING THIS YEAR INCLUDES
Students enrolled in a Keystone tested subject will be required to take the corresponding exam in the Spring. Students who are required to make-up a previous Keystone exam will do so in the Winter.


PSAT EXAMS

In the Fall the PSAT exams are available to college bound students in grades 10 and 11. The PSAT is a preliminary SAT exam allowing students to practice and familiarize themselves with CollegBoard exams. Students should analyze their results to identify subjects in which practice may be needed. PSAT exams this year will be Wednesday, October 12, 2022 registration is not required. There will not be PSAT make-ups. More information can be found on the CollegeBoard website.


ASVAB

Students interested in pursuing a military based career are encouraged to take the ASVAB to identify potential military career paths. This year the ASVAB will be given on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Students may register for the exam in the Counseling Office.


SAT TESTING INFORMATION

Students can register online using the CollegeBoard website for the SAT's held at Beaver Area High School for the 2022-2023 school year. Please see below for Registration deadlines:
Students wishing to test at BASD can input the CEEB code of 39132 and school code of 390200. Students who register late will be charged a $30 late fee. For more information on the SAT please visit collegeboard.org or contact your School Counselor.


SAT PREP

Free SAT preparation is available online through the Khan Academy.
To access, visit collegeboard.org and select SAT and click the yellow Start Practicing button. 
Additional SAT prep is also available through Penn State Beaver.

AP REGISTRATION

Students interested in registering for the Spring AP Exams please fill out an AP Registration Form and then log into MY AP join your class and select your exam choice. Join codes for each AP class are listed in the class Schoology.

Payment and the completed registration form are due to the Counseling Office by, November 4, 2022. Please reach out to your counselor if you have questions about reduced fee qualifications.

Costs for exams are as follows:
Standard AP Exam-$96
Reduced AP Exam- $53

Please make checks payable to Beaver Area School District with the student name and name of AP exam in the memo line. Students Eligible for testing accommodations must have prior approval from the College Board. The deadline for accommodations request to be submitted is January 18, 2022. Please contact Miss Coleman if you would like to submit a request to test with an approved College Board accommodation.

Please note:
*There is an additional $40 late registration fee for exams ordered AFTER, November 15, 2023. Late registration deadline is 3pm March 15, 2023. Please contact Miss Coleman if you need to register late.

**Students who cancel their order will be charged a $40 cancellation fee.

***Failure to pay or properly register for your exam may result in the failure of your exam to be ordered.

AP EXAM INFORMATION

The exam schedule for the 2022-2023 AP Courses is below:


Students are required to provide/arrange their own transportation for days that school is not in session. Students should report directly to their testing site 20 minutes prior to their scheduled exam start time. Students should use the main HS entrance doors to enter the building.


Exam administration will begin promptly at its scheduled time. Students and families should prepare for an approximate testing time frame of 3 hours and 15 minutes for each exam. If your student’s exam begins at Noon, please have pick-up transportation arrangements.


Students should bring an approved calculator (please see attached for a list of approved calculators), a number 2 pencil and a snack or drink. Although food and drink are not permitted during testing, they are permitted during breaks. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at (724) 774-0250 ext. 1822.
