SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Scholarships will be awarded at the Academic Awards Night on Wednesday, May 23.

Invitations will be mailed to scholarship recipients.

The Beaver Area School District Education Foundation is pleased to announce the 2017-18 Scholarship Awards Program. The Foundation manages 33 endowed funds, each of which was established to serve a specific purpose, and from which scholarships will be awarded to seniors attending Beaver Area Senior High School.

Program Guidelines & Priorities:

Seeking graduating seniors with a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities and participation in extracurricular school activities.

Applicants must plan to attend a proprietary or trade school, two (2)-year community college, or four (4)-year college or university.

Applicants must have the endorsement of their Guidance Counselor on the application attesting that they are qualified for this scholarship program.

Applications must be received by the Beaver Area School District Education Foundation no later than April 13, 2018.

Applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by the Beaver Area School District Education Foundation Scholarship Committee, in cooperation with faculty and administration. The scholarships will be awarded during the school district's annual Academic Awards Night on May 23. A formal invitation will be sent and scholarship winners should plan to attend.

Last year the BASD Education Foundation was proud to present more than $30,600 in scholarships to deserving seniors. Below is a picture of the students awarded Foundation scholarships in the Class of 2017.

How to Apply

There are three steps to complete the application process:

A letter of recommendation from a community member, teacher, or adult (non-related) is also required. This letter of recommendation should be turned in to your guidance counselor.

Download, print, and complete the statement of accuracy form. Forms are also available in the Guidance Office. Completed forms should be turned in to your guidance counselor.

Applications must be completed by April 13, 2018.

Five of the Foundation scholarships require a separate application in addition to the online application. Click on the scholarship name below to download the application criteria. You will also need a letter of recommendation and statement of accuracy form as listed above.

Quarterback Club Pat Tarquinio Scholarship - For qualities reflecting the Beaver Football "Tradition of Excellence: (two scholarships available - one for a football player and one for a non-player)

Mike Walter Memorial Scholarship - Recognizing work ethic, participation in school, sports, and community activities

Mr. Victor A. Martinetti Service to Community Scholarship - For extraordinary service and aspirations for higher education

Eric and Jamie McIntosh Family Scholarship - For students who have faced adversity and have overcome or have demonstrated the ability to overcome

Carlee Houghtelin Memorial Scholarship - For the ability to see others for who they are on the inside, rather than their outside appearance.
