This special team is based on problem solving and critical thinking. Cadets compete in the annual Academic Bowl using their JROTC Knowledge, Math, English, and Science skills along with current world event knowledge. By competing in the first two rounds of the competition, the cadets that compete have the chance of participating in the final round which takes place in Washington D.C. Teams of four plus two alternates compete at a time.
There are two separate teams to JLAB, academic and a Leadership based team. Captain of the leadership team is Cadet LT COL Ava Haverstock and captain of the academic team is Cadet CSM Ava Sutter.
